Alonso rules out racing at Le Mans in 2015

Fernando Alonso has denied rumors of his participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2015. Next season Nico Hulkenberg will divide his time between F1 and the Le Mans program and there had been rumors of a possible hiring of Alonso by Porsche for the famous endurance race.

But after signing a $50 million contract for McLaren Honda, Alonso told Spanish newspaper Marca that he will focus on F1 for now: “I wouldn't be comfortable if I wasn't 100% devoted to McLaren for the next year. I think there's a lot of work to do here. Le Mans is a race I love and I'm sure I will have opportunities when I retire from F1 but this year, with everything there is to do, it's not possible."
