Alonso and Vettel tied in the ranking of drivers with the most points

Thanks to the victory grabbed in Hungary, Sebastian Vettel, who has already caught up with Ayrton Senna with the 41esima personal achievement, he also managed to equal Alonso at the top of the drivers' standings with the most points scored in Formula 1, 1778 to be precise. Behind the German and the Spaniard we find Hamilton following them at a distance 90 lengths (1688). Compared to the past, the ranking, especially in recent years, has changed dramatically thanks to the majority change in the allocation of points approved in 2010.

What was achieved by Ferrari at the Hungaroring is without a doubt one important victory: the Prancing Horse had not been on the highest podium in Hungary since 2004, after coming very close last season with Alonso, while a Ferrari driver had not been able to lead a race since 2010 (Singapore) from start to finish. Yet the Hungarian Grand Prix also has added value for Sebastian Vettel. Thanks to last Sunday's victory, the number of circuits where the German climbed to the top step of the podium rose to 21 (which equals Hamilton - ed.) but the added value probably concerns having managed to reach the all-time ranking of the most successful drivers in Formula 1 a milestone like the 41 victories of the legendary Ayrton Senna. Seb, now, can only put Alain Prost (51) and, on a larger scale, Michael Schumacher (91) in his sights.
