Alonso: “Nice surprise to get to Q2”

With more courage than Tom Cruise in The Last Samurai Fernando Alonso faced the qualifications in Bahrain, managing to break through the Q2 barrier, which until then had apparently been insurmountable for the McLaren.

“It was a nice surprise. We have made clear progress in terms of performance – the words of the Prince of Asturias, 16th and 14th – Certainly one cannot be happy with such a position, but already having been able to move on to the second phase makes it clear that we we are moving in the right direction. The objective for the race is to see the finish line and with a bit of luck maybe even a few points."
