Alonso: “Going to Le Mans already this year? There is a 40-60% chance”

Yesterday Fernando Alonso completed his first race of 2018. We are talking about the 24 Hours of Daytona, contested with Lando Norris and Phil Hanson, who alternated at the wheel of the Ligier JSP217 of the United Autosports team, finishing in 38th place due to a problem encountered with the brakes which forced the mechanics to work overtime.

Despite a result below expectations, the Spanish double world champion assessed the Daytona experience positively, "preliminary" for a hypothetical participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans already this year: "There are 40-60% chancesI learned to understand when there are driver changes, communications, the preparation of the driver in the various stints, how much rest we are given, how long we need to be in the garage, how much attention we need to have in the race, how you have to prepare when you have to jump in the car".

"Like I said in Indianapolis, it was my first time in an oval race, first time for many things. If I were to be present at Le Mans it will be my second time in an endurance race and therefore I will be more prepared”, underlined Alonso.
