Flexible wings: the verification tests change
Formula One teams, or most of them, will be forced to strengthen their front wings to pass the new tests that the federation will introduce starting from the Spa grand prix.
The change will focus on the revision of the load to be applied to the ends, previously the wings could flex up to a maximum of 10 millimeters with 50 kg of weight applied, now the test will be double and they will not be able to flex for more than 20 mm with a weight applied of 100 kg.
Having observed the special wings of Red Bull and Ferrari, it is common belief that these teams had devised a way to pass the test with 50 kg by building wings that only flexed in the presence of greater loads.
From Ferrari they don't seem worried and let it be known that they will adapt the car but their competitiveness will not be affected. Meanwhile, Fernando Alonso was involved in two days of simulator testing to verify a new aerodynamic look for the car, the Spaniard declared to the press: "With seven races remaining, whoever gets six or seven podiums will be the champion".
