Alguersuari: “We still don't have a clear idea of ​​how things will go”

Free practice for the Singapore Grand Prix for Toro Rosso was quite eventful.

Jaime Alguersuari, 11th: “I'm very happy to be back in Singapore, I really like the track and the atmosphere and riding in the evening. The first day, as always, had little grip and in general, I wasn't very happy with the car and I didn't feel very comfortable today. We haven't been racing all the time and we don't have a clear picture of how the soft tires will behave over a long distance and we have yet to see how much of a factor degradation will be. I think the track was dirtier today than last year, which didn't help much, although the surface was less bumpy, and they changed something to the curbs. We still have one session to improve the car before qualifying, and it will be very important more than in any other race, because overtaking on a street circuit is always very difficult. Luckily I didn't touch the walls today, but I hit the curbs very aggressively and the team wanted to check the car for safety."

Sebastien Buemi, 19th: “The morning session was delayed, as they changed the circuit curbs and so we had to adapt to the new circuit lines. We managed to lap a bit in the first tests, getting a first impression on the soft tyres. The degradation was quite high, but that's normal on Fridays. In the second session, I did two more runs on the harder tyres, but when I changed tires to supersofts, I made a mistake at the chicane and hit the wall. My session ended early, but I hope to recover for qualifying. The car isn't bad, and as we saw in Monza, if things don't go well on Friday, we can still have a good race."
