Alguersuari: “Kubica can't pick up a glass to drink”

Jaime Alguersuari revealed that he had heard bad news about the conditions of Robert Kubica.

A few days ago a friend of the Pole who preferred to remain anonymous declared that the driver was close to returning to a normal life, and that he would soon know his chances of returning to Formula 1.

But the statements of the former Toro Rosso driver report something very different.

“I think Robert was and is a fantastic driver, fast and complete. I'm sure he could have become a world champion without a doubt,” said the Spaniard.

“At the moment the latest information I have on him is not very good” admitted Alguersuari. “He can't drink using his hand — that is, he can't lift the glass and I think that's not a good sign.”

Kubica, former pilot BMW and Renault, had an accident in an Italian rally more than a year ago, with the guard rail literally passing through the car injuring the Pole.

Algersuari also revealed that the Pole's co-driver, Jakub Gerber, had initially thought that "Robert had died in the terrible accident"

“I think his injury is worse than expected. I certainly hope that he can come back, because he undoubtedly deserves to race in F1” added the XNUMX-year-old Spanish driver.
