Vergne, “The new single-seater is better than the previous one”

Jean-Eric Vergne believes that Toro Rosso can have a happier season than the 2012 season which ended at the bottom of the table. However, despite the good impression he had in the Jerez tests, the Frenchman still has a lot of work to do - "My feelings are positive and I am convinced that the STR8 is a step forward compared to the previous car, but also last year in the winter we were satisfied and in the end we didn't meet expectations" - he told Autosport - "There are areas we need to focus on, new things to implement, the point is that we need to understand the car and it will take time, only then we will be able to get the most out of it. Personally I feel like a better rider, with more experience, now everything has become automatic for me and this in itself is a good thing."
